Products: Water Melon Seeds

A Watermelon seed is used for the Farming skill, requires level 47 to plant and grow watermelons. Players must plant 3 watermelon seeds per allotment.

Food features:SOWING ... Sow watermelon seed in late spring when soil is warm or start 4-6 weeks earlier indoors. Plant 5 watermelon seeds in a ring about 2 inches across. Cover watermelon seed with 1/2 inch of fine soil. Each ring is called a hill and hills should be spaced 3 feet apart.

Nutrition:Unless you chew them, however, the seeds are quite likely to pass right through your digestive system rather than being broken down and absorbed — so the nutritional loss/gain is a wash.

Dietotherapy function:Yum, watermelon seeds. Actually they are eaten in parts of the world. In Nigeria, the seeds of certain types of watermelon are made into soup. They are eaten in China, as well, although the outer skin is removed by rubbing or scorching it off. In our book, either method requires more effort than simply spitting the seeds out.
